Been a tough spring and summer here in CT. Seems like I’m either in work or it’s raining. Actually a whole lot of fun & busy stuff with the family has also kept my road time limited as well so not complaining about that. Got out this morning in the pickup for a good ride and tried to get a good shot of the sunny motioning enjoyed here. Hope you got out there too!
I'm a lucky boy....got out there. Nothing like driving them. And I got out in the morning for breakfast with the other car nuts. Happy Motoring Sent from my XT1254 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Got out but in nothing interesting Hit a farmers market in the corner of a mall parking lot and two produce stands and stocked up on some fruit and veggies. Then took a ride the long way home out though the hop fields.
I attempted a cruise night on Friday... place was jammed and my electric fan wasn't working, but went home via the Ocean Parkway. Fixed the fan on Saturday and did a cruise for a couple of hours. It finally is cooling off a bit after 5. Most cruises have been extremely hot all summer.
got to head out for the day on Saturday with a friend... 20180825_062614 by Chappy444 posted Aug 27, 2018 at 8:36 AM
Took the old Buick to a car show Sunday and sit around and sweat my ass off. Then in the evening took it out for a drive and a good meal with my wife. Kind of eased the pain of my dumb ass roasting all day. It was kind of fun watching the awards at the end of the car show when all the cry baby trophy hounds didn't receive that $2.00 plaque for their shitbox Miata, jacked up 4X4 etc.
Where I work there is no end to the mandatory overtime, I can buy the parts there's just no time to work on or drive the old cars.
Old US 66 on Tijeras Canyon at sunrise. Agreed better than a modern on the interstate any day Sent from my XT1254 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I did my share of “iron” Saturdays and Sundays over the years and frosted me when people would come in and tell me what a beautiful day it was out there. Been there & done that and feel your pain.
Had one of those mandatory overtime jobs once. Didn't last long. Life's short. But you gotta do what you gotta do.
I feel for you guys i put in my share of 70 hour work weeks but when i retired it was balls to the walls cruise ins and seeing the USA in the old cars I’m building probably my last car now but still run a lot so it will take awhile. Winters in the south summers up in cruise land.
Yesterday, Wife and I went for a drive in the mountains where I live. The little 34 pickup runs so nice in the cooler weather. It's been 100+ for over 40 days, and the low 90's feel good. Next time I'll take a hood picture, like some of you did. Somehow you can feel the drive, looking at your photos....
Speaking of cruises, made it to Mark’s in Granby in the avatar tonight. Had to have been 500+ cars. Hot but great to be there! Event also had a tribute to a group of quarter midgets
