Projects Getting my 49 back on the road

Ok , we'll I decided to sell the blown 400 sbc in my dodge and just replace it with an almost new crate 350 . Here's some pics of the car with engine out , engine going in.....it's in as of now....more pics to come

When we washed out the rocker panels red dirt / clay was in there....just painting the whole Enchilada from the fire wall forward , just got the stainless steel headers ....man they look like jewelry...more pics coming.

the 400 was stock and great torque , had a rod knock , the 350 came along at a great price...so..heres some more pics ..i added the carb spacer , looks nice...should be good for a few ponies.....

 

and a frontall pic , have it up and running soon , then ill tear up the streets of north Houston a bit...i recessed that fire wall big time , engine is set way back...by the
way this car handles real nice and with the 373s moved out nice with the s

Ok got the 1 5/8 headers bolted on....they are sweet....no time for pics,,,I'll get em soon...water pump is installed , got my Holley delivered.....pics coming...

 

I'm jealous...I want one. Especially a 49 with the small rear fenders. Love it.

Latest update..replaced all ball joint boots , rack boots ..etc....headers installed......may go to Napa tomorrow and fire it up..

Ok...got it running last night . Used a lawn mower gas tank gravity fed and it runs excellent .fired up on first try...sweeet...will button it up next weekend...upper radiator hose , fan , new alternator , wire loom here and there and electric fuel pump...the Holley runs great right out of the box....

 

Love the smell of a first start up..oil, gas....exhaust ....
