I assume there is a typo....
What is the axle measurement Off ground and Shock unhooked?

the Axle measurement doesn't increase with the shock unhooked..... Yet the shock measurement does?

I made Many educated guess(s) when building my '48 F-2 Ford (Avatar); ie removing 7 leaves and keeping 5 leaves for a local spring shop. 'had them use plastic-like mat'l between the remaining leaves. R&R'ed the orig, 5-88 ratio rear axle with a 3-00 nine inch and been pleased with the results for the past 32 years ! :D

In my case, with car sitting on the ground, and I push down on rear of the car, the only thing that gives is the tires. The suspension is not doing anything. Basically, only rear suspension I have is the rear tires.

Think I have resolved this thing as good as I am able.
Basically shorter shock (9.25×14.00) made a big improvement..Thank everyone for there help and input, especially the Hambers in Australia and New Zealand. They spent lot of one on one time with me.
    The H.A.M.B rocks.
