That Flathead is NUTS. Following this thread and then meeting up with Gene in Syracuse has been very rewarding. Looks like a total labor of love. So cool. Slim

(The progress will come quick from here on out. The truck has to be done by the Roadster Show in January.)

Today we got the frame slicked out, filled, block sanded, primed, guide coated and started the final block sanding before paint. It will go to paint tomorrow or Monday. Then color sanding and buffing inside and out. It is going to be slick!

    More to come...

This is the engine I just finished at H&H Flatheads. Polished everything just like Gene.

It was worked with the body on and painted when it was in it's "Gold" form. We decided to do the truck justice and go all the way. These things are always nicer then when they were first build.

I just put it on the test stand today and it runs great. I am going to put water to it tomorrow and finish it up. Fired right up.

There was some talk of having Gene spray the truck. Is that still a possibility?

I met Gene in Syracuse this summer and he was excited about the truck being restored.

No, time will not allow it. I do believe he is going to spray Lanny Ericsons 56 though. We are currently restoring it as well.

To those that still don't get it when it comes to all the fuss about flatheads, refer to exhibit A.

I took some pics to show my dad, and he was very excited about the work that's been done, and thought the engine looked great. It had a Chevy small block in it when we had it, so he was surprised to see the flathead. He was telling me that it had "cat's eyes" rear lights and was wondering if you were going to stick with them. He also asked me to tell you what a great job you guys are doing, and was particularly pleased with the pics of Gene with the truck.

That flathead is beautiful! It'll be awesome to see the truck completed and to see it in MFS 6!

Finally an update with pictures! The frame is a little dusty in a few of the pics. We had just rolled it back inside from taking it to Goodguys.

The frame is complete and the motor is in. Every square inch is color sanded and buffed. Even the torque tube and rear axel are smothed. All the lines are stainless. Being indoors does not do this color justice. In the sun it will just about blind you.

I think the pics speak for themselves.

The body is almost ready for paint. A few more weeks of blocksanding and it will be done. Should have some pics soon.
