the chassis and drive train is georgous!!
Everything looks great...and I love the color. Is it a custom gold mix or is it a stock color of some kind. Also wondering what kind of paint was used on the engine..some kind of engine enamal or regular basecoat with some kind of clear....thanks and great job
Damn it man!...Beautiful
Its looking real good I tell you. Goooooooood! Real good.
I think WOW! sums it up pretty nicely...
I saw that at the Goodguys show, I wanted to talk to yall, but so did everyone else. Good job. It looks better in person.
It's a custom mix. We tried really hard to get it as close as posible to the original color. It was hard considering the truck had benn repainted. We were able too scrape enough paint back and match the color as close a humanly possible. (See the pic below) PPG was kind enough to help us with the color match. Or rep Shane was a huge help.
As for the engine paint. It is the same paint as everthing else. Base coat clear coat. We do all our engines that way. It is the only way to match the color exact.
This is one of the spots that we matched the color to.
I wish I had been able to make it. This is the first one I have ever missed. I heard it was a pretty good show.
2 updates in one week??? We are mad men trying to get this thing done by the Roadster Show.
Ok so after spending the better part of my day working. We got the cab ready for primer and shot. Let the block sanding begin!!!
The first shots are of just the primer and the last ones are with the guide coat applied.
That will be awesome...next year will be the first time I've ever been down to the GNRS...
Would love to see this in person and catch up with Gene, as I doubt he'll miss it either...
The cab and bed are painted!!! The bed is on the frame and being assembled at this very moment!
The cab, hood and various other parts are in the booth being painted. I can tell you it looks amazing.
More pics coming very soon!
This is the part where I wish I really had one of those "This thread is useless without pics" pics. Can't wait.
I will get some pics on monday for now crappy cell phone pics will have to do.
Wow! Can't wait to see it together.
Wow, that is way more than cool!!
Wow I dont even know how to describe how awesome this whole thread is.What did you guys do with the dash?
The cab and bed are out of paint and being prepped to be put on the frame. 6 1/2 weeks to go!
I will be submitting a weekly update from here to the end of the build. Be watching for it.

What happened to the original dash? Did you guys change it out so you could keep the original one as it was painted and striped or strip the original and repaint it?
Unfortunately no. The original dash was not saved. There really was no proof on who striped it. Plus it was wlded in in a wy that would have destroyed it on the removal prosess. I did the best I could to document it though.
