Got the frame and rear suspension parts sprayed today. The frame is satin black and the rear parts are gloss.

  8. I finally got cleared to drive,,the the boot off my foot and the first trip out of the house I jumped in the sedan and went straight to Gene's to check the progress.

Melvin was at it again,,power washing the C6 transmission outside and Gene was in the shop trying to remove the old shackle bushings from the front springs.

Frank Taylor showed up and we all swap stories as often happens.

    Sorry,,no photos.HRP

This thread is such a heartwarming story. From Quain finding Gene, all the people helping with the restoration, and it's soon to be back in action unveiling at Greer after 40 years. Wow ... It sure would be great to see this story make a major hot rodding magazine like the Garey High School gasser here at the HAMB did. Gene, Quain, the Moonlighter, and all the people that have helped would be richly deserving.- Steve -

  17. I stopped by Chris Harper's shop and there were several guys there,,

I have a terrible memory so I apologize in advance for not giving the guys credit they so richly deserve for helping out.

Melvin, was working with another gentleman installing all the brackets and pieces on the rear axle when I arrived.

I helped move the front end out into the sun and man does it shine,,Chris did a fantastic job with the body and paint and in record time.

I had may camera today,,Color is absolutely beautiful.

Chris told me he still needs to do a little more work to the body.

Not a lot of room to back up and get a full photo in the assembly area but these are the first photo of the painted frame.

Chris is taking a break in the background.

Gene's long time friend Dave fly cutting the pistons. It's friends like Dave and many more that's making sure the Moonlighter makes the show May 25 at Greer Dragway.[IMG]

What did the Moon Lighter run back in the day with the engine and trans combination that is being reborn for the car today?
