Hi, Just a quick hello for the first time. I bought a '31 Model a Coupe 18 months ago, from New York State. Originally rodded way back when, then rebuilt "American Graffiti" style, in the early 70's. 4'' chop, Hi-boy style, bobbed rear guards, metal flake paint. Now has Skinny painted steelies, hairpin front and rear. I rebuilt the 350, with triple Rochester carbs, all the old Finned Accessories I could scrounge. Bought a sewing machine and Tuck & Rolled the interior, ended up not bad, for about $300 total outlay. Nearly ready for registration, (have to fit cycle guards to front) Anyway, been looking at the site for ages, lovin' it, so now I'm here.
Welcome from Philadelphia PA. Sounds like you have one cool build. Tuck and Rolled your own...awesome.
Thanks for the welcome. Got the interior idea from a website called "Classic Road". Guy named Rolfe, shows complete build from start to finish. The trim didn't look that hard, so thought I'd give it a go. Had to get my wife to show me how to thread the machine and sew a few seams, then all good.
Kia ora e haere mai from New Zealand. Sounds like you got a great coupe there. Look forward to seeing some pics.
Many thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. As soon as I figure out how to upload some pics, I'll get some on.
Damn thats close, I'm from Heatherton. Should come along to the cruise nights at Johns rod n custom in Berwick one night, nothin much else to do round here
I was going to go to the last one, but I got stuck at work late. As soon as it's registered, I'll be clocking up the miles going everywhere.
G'day Im from Melbourne also, Would love to see some pics of your tuck and roll job as i hope to do the same very soon on my '52. I checked out the "classic road" website, did you just look at the build thread on that Model A? Cheers, Ryan.
Hi Ryan, Checked out the whole site, loved it all. Mainly copied the ideas about the interior trim. Pretty cheap and looks OK. Bought all the stuff from a trim supply store in Moorabbin.
Would you recommend the place you went to? I've had a quick look around but havent found much, do you remember what the place is called?
Hi, The place is called Vy-Fab, (or something like that). Its in Bignell road, off South road(Sandbelt Hotel on corner) Heading from South Road, towards Keys road, it's on L/H side of bignell road. Looks like a warehouse type place, with large Cyclone wire fence. They sell EVERYTHING to do with motor trimming. Steve.
