interesting footnote on the man behind this event, Jack Wegman. A mutual friend tells of taking Jack to Carlton "HoHo" Bates emporium of rust and junk in Elliot, ME. An institution to New England hot rodders for many years but alas gone by edict of the local fire marshall. Anyway Jack spied a grille shell on the wall of HoHo's shop that looked similar to a Model A but had Hercules stamped on it. Jack asked how much, HoHo said $50, Jack offered $15 and the deal was done. (an example of why we all loved Carlton to much)
Jack had someone in Canada create a body in steel to fit the grille shell. great story, great car and super traditonal event in New England. Here's a picture:
