Just talked to Ernest, and he said he just sealed the deal for the 2011 Reunion. It will be held at Beaver Springs PA on June 10, 11 & 12.
Where about is Beaver Springs, PA? I know where Pittsburgh, Erie, Harrisburg and of course Carlisle is.
It's about 50 miles northwest of Harrisburg. Draw a straight line from Harrisburg to State College, and it's about midpoint.
Pretty much open to any "period" Gasser. The cutoff has been 1972 recently, but I don't know about next year. ETs range from the low 8's to 15's. It's a fun event more than a hi-performance event.
None are close, 25 miles either way, Lewistown or Selingsgrove. Go for Selingsgrove, there are a bunch of them there.
Ok... I now have my deadline for this car. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=501366&highlight=bad+banana God willing and all stars line up, this car will be there if at all possible. It ran there last in the late '70s. My dad knew Beaver Bob McCardle personally prior to him having the track. I hope I can set up a reuinion between those two also. I need to get out in the shop today and get crackin' ..
You can get a racers discount price at the Comfort Inn in Selinsgrove if you get a group to reserve a block of rooms.
You and Don going for who has the higher wheel stand LOL, That must have made the crowd happy seeing you guys running together. Jon
This could very well be the East Coast event of the year. Beaver Springs is located so as Ohio, N.Y., Md. Va. N.J. and New England states could show. Certainly looking forward to being there. CGM.
WOW!! What a great choice for a gasser reunion! Bob just gave the track and grounds a make-over and it looks amazing! This is my favorite track to photograph events because there are no obstructions and the view going down the track is incredible. First class all the way.... can't wait! Spike
