What a sad ending for a exceptional career. Jeffries was always a hero of mine.

6. Can you imagine all of the cool stuff behind those walls? Dean was an amazing guy who rarely got recognition for all of the cool stuff he did. He wasn't a "Look At Me" showman like some of the other builders, but I think he preferred it that way.

Wow - best beg or borrow all of the $$$ you can and buy all that you can - even if you don't really need it or like it. not listed as an auction so, be in line before the Sun comes up. take a big enclosed truck & trailer.

I'm surprised they are going the garage sale route. I would think an auction would bring in more money and be better crowd control. I bet it is going to be a zoo with everyone running wild. I agree with J.J., get there early, flippers better get in line the night before and camp out.

I finally uploaded a video from a visit with Dean on January 27, 2011. He talks about his Ford GT40 Roadster and you can see some of what was in the shop at the time.

(It might look sideways on the preview, but I edited it to view vertical)

so did you go? what did you buy? any pics?

23. I don't want to throw a wrench into this thread, but I have a bad feeling that the average guy doesn't stand a chance on getting much of anything in this auction. There's some very wealthy car guys just a few miles away in Beverly Hills that I speculate will drive the prices out of the reach of the average guy.

I hope I'm wrong, and we see some postings of some cool stuff bought by some HAMB members.

24. Someone please post pictures even if it just a crowd of the unwashed masses.

The sign says it's an Estate Garage Sale... Are there certain items that will be auctioned separately?

28. Not sure how they've got it segregated, but I would have to assume that the items will go separately. I've been to a lot of Estate sales where every item stood on it's own. The seller stands to make a lot more money that way, but it takes a long time to go through it all. I would have to imagine that Dean accumulated a lot of stuff in his lifetime.

Here's what I saw on Dean Jeffries website.
Sale Items:The sale will consist primarily of automotive parts collected over 40 years, a handful of shop tools and some personal furniture items from Deans home.
A limited amount of Dean Jeffries Memorabilia will also be for sale:
Dean Jeffries Book, 50 fabulous years in hot racing, racing & film
T-Shirts – Dean Jeffries shop/work shirts with his logo (sizes limited)
Mantaray, small scale (hot-wheel type & size)
Personal Update: The family wishes to thank all of the well-wishers and Dean’s long time friends who have been so supportive. Much of Dean’s documented work, files, photos, collectibles, display signs and customizing history has been assembled by the family in a private showroom in Riverside County. Dean’s Mantaray and 33 Ford are displayed (and soon to be joined by one of Dean’s first Koyote Dune Buggies).
The Parnielli Jones Indy car has been sold.
The Ford GT 40 (#109) is anticipated to be for sale soon.

I went. It wasn't an auction. Random stuff for sale... But a few small deals to be had. Most of his art, drawings, pics etc are in a viewing space out by Riverside. I believe he family is setting it up as a museum of sorts.
