My Dad chased this car for five years. It was known to a lot of people locally, most of whom tried to pry it away from the looooooooooong-term owner.

Story: It had not seen the road since last being registered in 1968. The owner's dad owned it prior to him and used the car regularly. Some time within the last decade the owner started down the path of restoring the car, going so far as to have the motor rebuilt along with one or two other things, but momentum was essentially arrested for most of that time.

My dad made contact with the guy and became friendly with him and made a few serious offers. Every so often they would run into each other and a few months ago he let my dad know he was ready to do a deal.

Every few nights since they pulled the car out of storage my Dad would call and say "You should see this thing. It's perfect. The seats aren't worn. It's all there. The wood's great." and on and on. He said the rear seats look like they've never even been sat on.

They spent the last couple of weeks putting it back together and getting it running. Mom sent these photos the other night...

I'll get some more photos soon.

I don't hate you Chris. Just your Dad. Beautiful car. Tell him to sit on it for a few months before he considers changing anything.

That is very Cool! Super Nice...
  22. I always wanted to build one as a long wheelbase car hauler. I would use a 501 Cadillac Eldorado, front wheel drive, with a Cadillac transaxle, modified A.O.D. . Not a traditional vehice, but one built to drive. It would be a nice driver and no driveshaft woes. I saw a modern version with a 455 Olds Toronado. and long wheelbase. It is a nice working carnhauler.looking almost stock.
  23. Absolutely beautiful,,congratulations to your dad for doggedly staying after the '32 woody and the payoff is well worth it!,,such a rare find! HRP
