Finally closed the deal and picked up my latest project. 1940 ford standard opera coupe. Been sitting in the garage since '59. Car was put in the garage, the owner pulled the flathead out and was putting a sbc out of a 56 corvette with 2x4 into it and never did. And there it sat. Like a time capsul. The car was believed to be bought originally by his father, then passed to him, then i bought it off of his son after he passed. So it went through three generations and now its mine! Im not sure the title was ever transfered, so that kind of makes me a second owner in a way. Anyways, it is a really solid car, a little rust in the back, and one of the rear fenders was lost, but other than that it is pretty complete. Check out the cool interior with jump seats and pinstripping on the dash. Cant find the keys to it, but supposedly the son and his brother used to hide his rubbers in the glove box when he was younger, so cant wait to see whats inside of that glove box! Got to love the stories you hear when you buy a car! Oh well enjoy the pictures.

Just looking at the door gaps is unbelievable. That is one solid Ford. Is the original interior under those seat covers??? What a find.

Stunning! Great score. Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between an Opera coupe and a normal coupe?
