Here some pictures of my Edelbrock desklamp project! Check out for more Original Plan B
Yes we built some stuff
A clock made from a moon disk that was on a long gone 50 Chevy custom I built back in the 60's
with pictures of some of the cars that I've built or owned over the years
I'm humbled by some of the talent on this post. Awesome stuff that has me thinking. I do a lot of hand painted art on automotive parts and pieces. Thanks for the post. Gary
Add those ^^^ to the trophy thread...nice.
A mini garage for my grandson ELI. Its next to his poppy,s full size one . We are all Kids, just a different age. And FUN is FUN. He LOVES HOT RODS.
Above pic ^^^
May seem OT at first, but Its a candle holder that I made from
Old muffler/piping/ hanger parts....
For my lady...
But it ended up in the garage ...
That is so cool, Wives don't appreciate good ART . at least mine doesn't. L.O.L.
I'm with you... LOL... I thought it was a clever and thoughtful gift.. Haha
Had a couple hubcaps get kicked in while my truck was parked one day. A trip to a woodworking store and 20 minutes with a drill was very therapeutic.
Don'cha just love assholes?
At least you were able to make lemonade out of lemons. Very cool.
Made this for the end of the driveway, Welded up a bunch of old tools(tin snips, pliers, wrenches, brace and bit) I got at a second hand store.
That boy doesn't stand a chance. Car nut for life. HaHa
I had a muffler laying around that fit real nice on the kids go kart. A lot quieter now.
I wasn't going to post this until its done, but I'm going to anyway.
After seeing what's been done with Model A grill shells here, the one that was hanging on my shed wall started calling out to me.
Well not really, but after wondering what to do with the traffic light glass that @37hotrod sent me, he sent me the grill shell too, I decided to combine them.
I'll put some type of flashing light behind the glass, and will include a clock and other automotive stuff.
I'll update pics as I get it done, purists won't like it, the grill shell may get cut, but we're hot rodders, right!
Neon clock face, outlined with a ribbed trim ring, set inside a motorcycle tire. A 32 commercial grille with unknown headlight bar and buckets. I trimmed some aluminum brooder lights to fit inside the buckets.
I dug some louvered industrial panel out of the company dumpster and used a spare grill shell I had. Next will come the one-shot and it will be cool wall art. Gary
I made this sign from an picture seen in a photo of Zora Duntov at the Chevy proving grounds and I have tested many V8 stove bolts.........
Left Turn Louie, my front yard "archaeological discovery":
Here's my clock, I'm getting it ready for paint. I made it from a $5 clock from Walmart, a Model 'A' 3rd member and will have it bolted upright on a torque tube.
Update: got plywood cut and bolted in with stainless dome bolts.
I've also got some gauges to go through to see what'll work.
This was made in our
garage but not by me. My wife and step son both do metal sculpture and this is my stepson's latest piece, note that he laments that in our stash of car parts there aren't more broken gears to repurpose.
I liked your lunch box idea so much I shamelessly swiped the idea. I'm going to give it to my buddy with a 55 T'bird.
Thanks for the idea
