Yep, saw it, liked it and wondered why it was placed so obscurely.
Neat hot rod.
Shitm I know I missed a building now!!! That thing is awesome!!
I never saw it... Damn. Here's an article Pat wrote on it:
What building was that in? Looks like it might have been in bldg #4 up by the stage... if so, I missed it because there were a ton of people standing around the stage area.
Main building, right by the stage? Color me stupid too, I guess... damn is the word...
It was stuffed in the SE corner of building 4 up by the stage.
Probably the worst spot for a car in that show. It's a nice open area and great for pictures but, hardly anybody goes up there. The band is usually so loud that you'll get dain bramage if you get within 100' of the stage.
beautiful hot rod, crappy placement.
no question, a beautiful roadster.
Hell!... I never saw it... must of been obscurely placed....did spy pics a while back...it's beautiful and should have been in the running for HAMB award.....
Nice, we never saw it either. Never went near the stage ya know.
Thanks for posting those. Pat's a hero of mine, great to see that car.
Throw in some mardi gras clowns and he might really have something there
Seriously tho, that IS beautiful.
Pat is a great person who is not only passionate about cars but knows his automotive history more than most. I was excited to add his bare aluminum dragster in the History of the Race Car building but wished his restored roadster was placed in a better setting. I personally think Pats car should be considered for a future Hamb/Jalopy Journal AMBR award or the Bruce Meyer preservation award.
Damm, I did not see it there.
One of the best.
I just happened to walk over to the pinstripper stuff and was blown away by the car and I could not believe that the car was put there and not somewhere more predominent.
BUmmer. That should have been in contention for the Jalopy Journal award for sure.
Definitely a contender for the HAMB award. This is one west coast car that I want to see first hand before the dirt nap.
That was beautiful and I wondered the same thing about why it wasn't a candidate.
I looked at it and walked right by it the first time I saw it but later on I gave it a good look over.
I met Pat on Friday night in the magazine cars building and we had a nice talk. He was just wandering around ,looking at the cars and pointed out to me the ones he took the cover pix of.
He really liked the flamed Nomad .
It would have gotten my vote!! I wondered the same thing. Why was it not included!!!
I don't think any of the builders saw it... I certainly didn't... and I went through that building a number of times.
That is an outstanding balance of color, style, and stance.. All I can say is "kool beans". Pat nailed it. And it definitely would have possibly made a difference in the vote for HAMB pic, eh?
He should have put a board on the front frame horns and placed it behind the digger. Lot's of folks would have seen it then!
Great car, too bad he had a lousy spot and so many people missed it!
...great to see that car finally finished, it looks perfect!...haven't heard much from Pat lately, he must be keepin a low profile ....always enjoy his work.
...hope someone features this car, probly the Rodder's Journal,.. I hope.
Love that color.
Damn near Perfect!
