I'd also keep the "hump" in the trunk, smoothin it out might result in a too smooth 80s look, but maybe not, what do i know.

 

Looking great guys. It's truly going to be stellar. I love the rear lights. Can you post pictures of what you did to get the trunk hinges back in? I'm kinda curious how you worked that one out.

The car is really looking good. Really dig the taillamps and antennas.

 

Wow! It's so great you're doing a tribute. I'm doing a tribute to his painting style as well with my Olds. Eventhough it's not 50s, it shows among the younger generations that he STILL brings strong influence and ideas!

And it's so great to see it done to a 4 door hard top, everyone usually picks the 2 doors for kustoms. This reminds me of the concept of the '56 Chevy in Kustom Land that's a 4 door hard top kustom. It's very cool.

Really look forward to seeing the final project! Great job so far.

I'm hoping the paint on this one leans directly at Larry Watson and away from the Lowrider Style....Though I can appreciate both, there's always a temptation to get carried away. Subtlety can be killer and Larry knew that....he allowed the car to dictate the paint, not the other way around....Centurion9
