It's about time I start a build thread on my car. Here is a little back ground about my car. I am the third owner of the car. It has spent it's whole life in Texas and it was powered by a 235 with a powerglide. I picked it up about 2 1/2 years ago in Leander near Austin, TX. I been doing work here and there, just slowly hacking away at it. I've got some progress to show so I thought I'd start my build thread. Anyways, here's the car when I bought it. The first order of business was to get some new shoes on her
Next it was time to pull the 235. Thank God for the chains I had, this thing was a pain in the ass to get out. Pushing her outside to start the engine pull. Here is the pain in the ass out and on the garage floor
Chopped, dropped, 54 Mercury quarters and bumpers custom grill. Here's a painting I had Lowcab do of the direction I'm going with the car
It's more fun to cuttup a solid car than some old rust bucket.Looks like this is a good one, time to breakout the old hacksaw.
Know it's time to get the front clip off to have easy access to pull the old crossmember out and in with the Mustang II I picked up through Gambino Kustoms Successfully off and on the garage floor
Amen brother, other than the area below the trunk lid and a few spots here and there it's pretty solid
Sounds like a pretty sweet build. I've been wanting to see more kustom builds lately. I'll be following this one.
Now it's time for the Mustang II install. Here the car without the clip. Notice the chrome motor mounts. I'm assuming someone had the engine out at some point and started to customize the engine compartment. If you look back at the previous photos you'll notice a lot of chrome pieces that I'm sure weren't original to the car This took a lot for me. This is my first mustang II install and it was a lot of head scratching. The good thing about buying this from Gambino Kustom's is Alex was more than helpful when I had a question. Thanks, Alex
Didn't take a lot of pictures during the install. My intention was to document this install for any one else, sorry. Mustang II all tacked in, so I set the front clip back on to check and make sure the wheels looked right in the wheel wells.
comming along great. glad to see the first thing done was getting rid of dem rimz. are you going to still run the 235 or small block it? keep the pics coming.
Those original wheels were uuuuuuugly, loving the chromes and whitewalls. The painting looks killer, can't wait to see it.
Alright these photos are from about a month after I got the crossmember tacked in. Mostly complete on the final welding just have a few more areas that I want to redo the welds and then clean them up but I'm ready to start on the Gambino notch for the rear. Putting her on the ground

Alright here is a few photos of the car on the ground. Torque tube is still in the rear that's why it looks all jacked up in the rear
Thanks guys, next step is to start working on the Gambino notch. Going to start working on that tomorrow morning
Kinda slow progress, but progress none the less. Got the torque tube removed and started cutting the trunk pan out and getting things cleaned up. I welded the support across the trunk area for a just in case. I've read on a few other threads where this area moved slightly. Never hurts to be safe...
