Technical Front Shock Angle on a Duece

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by qmdv, Aug 9, 2019.

  1. I bought lower shock mounts that bolt to the bottom of spring perch. As you can see the angle is off as the shocks will rub on spring bolts

Here is the lower mount. It is the stainless variety and I think I can heat them up and bend them as desired

What say you guys that have experienced this

Turn the shackle around , put a spacer on the top shock and bottom shock eye. A little here a little there should make it work

  3. Do you have the shock on the front? it's hard to tell in the photo, the nuts on the shackel should be facing the rear of the car. HRP

Flip the shackle so the nut is on the other side

  5. Yes shocks oat front of axle. Yes the nuts at back will help. I am trying to use F-1 shock mounts for the top mount

Sorry but...........Stainless(especially that thick) don't."heat & bend". Mild

  7. I still think that the top of the shock is a bit too far back. Tweeking that lower mount a bit would really help.
  8. How about tweeking the upper mount?
