Hello boys and girls! I have the front axle from a 1949 Ford F1 truck that has hydraulic brakes and lug spacing of 5 x 5.5. I would like to change to Chevy hubs that have 5 x 4.75 spacing. I know that I can buy a disc brake conversion for this application -------- BUT, I would prefer to stay with drum brakes. Does anyone know of a bolt on hub change that would give me the 1. hydraulics, 2. drum brakes, 3. 5 x 4.75 lug spacing?
Thanks for the attention. Perley :)

  2. You should be able to redrill your hubs and drums to the Chevy bolt pattern. Friend of mine recently redrilled his F1 hubs and drums to late for 5 on 4.50 without any problems.

  3. Don't know if the center hole in the Chevy wheels is big enough to clear the spindle snout on the Ford hubs.
