There has been some post on here latelty with sketches and what not of what people plan to do with their cars. Some awesome, some atrocious. I thought it would be cool to see some of your guy's concept drawings. I am mainly interested in ones that you have built or are currently building. I am not wanting to steal any ideas. I think it would be cool to see all of these. I'm interested to see the concept and final product side by side. Did you stay true to your design? Or did you have to change some things to fit your budget? Or encounter big problems and have to go another direction entirely?
yeah pretty much i had chopped it and a few other things by then it was a gasser looking monstrosity with the front end way up in the air when i got it i think its just setting on axles in that picture....i didnt really know what i was doing then as that was my first car the drawing looks alright except the windsheild is out of proportion... chuckspeed is going to be the new owner of the car and finish it up pretty similar to the drawing i think the only thing thats differed is the shocks on the front i had intended to do cantilever mounts ontop the frame rails and hide them inside the hood sides....but i didnt have the time Zach
Zach, even in it's unfinished form, that has to be one of my favorite roadsters ever. I saw it at the showdown last year, but didn't get a chance to talk with you about it. Just perfect! Your others aren't too shabby either! I just posted this over in the '32-'34 pickup thread, but here's my heap/project again... Concept drawing I did when I started this mess... What I started with... I rolled it out yesterday to snap a few pics...
I've done a lot of drawings over the years but I never intended them to be concepts. The way my cars came together was with whatever parts fell into my lap, no concept, just building.
Here is my '58 in three of its steps of THE four..... 1-Inception... 2-Conception.... 3-progress....ion... ........................................HOPE I live 4=Completion
Concept: Reality: ......and someday it will be finished. I'm taking my time on this baby.....you don't want to rush perfection. You want to treat something like this right....something this ultra cool. Damn, I love myself.
I admire you guys that can draw....I cant even do flinstone's ride....I just keep standing back, looking, and go from there. Unless I am coping a picture.....
Except for the paint, I think it's amazinmg. Graham's are amazing bone stock, they were way too avant garde to sell in big numbers.
Thanks for posting this. Like he said like it or not...... This car is a testament of true craftsmanship. There is a website with an ass ton of build photos on this. Worth a look. Not something I would build..not because I dont like it but because I couldnt possibly imagine the man hours put into this thing.
I had my roadster concept drawing hanging in my garage as I built the real thing. Came out pretty close with a little change in some colors. When ever anyone would stop by and ask what I was working on I would just point to the drawing.
