Friday May 2nd is almost here so it is time once again to dust off the old heap, check your tires, top up the tank and join us for the Lonestar Roundup Garage Crawl. We will gather at the "world famous" Round Rock Donut shop located at 106 West Liberty Avenue in Round Rock TX. (www.roundrockdonuts.com). Park where you can and enjoy all the goodies they have to offer. They open early at 4:30am. Driver's meeting will be around 7:30am where we will have the route available for you to photograph. We will depart immediately after the meeting and head north on IH 35 to our first stop. I am currently working with local law enforcement to assist with traffic. Hopefully they will be available that morning as Friday traffic is usually insane. If you have been with us before you know the drill. If you are a first timer here is some info... Arrive with a full tank of gas. we will be covering quite a few miles. No trailers. This is a driving event. Rental cars are fine for out-of-town guests. NO PETS. Well behaved and/or restrained children are welcome but please no strollers. Some shops may have a project that is off limits for photos. I will let you know Friday. Please no burnouts or display of speed. This could ruin future crawls for all of us. This is a free event. You don't have to be registered for the Roundup. Everyone is welcome. The crawl is timed to be done before noon and routed to head you in the direction of the Travis County Expo Center for the Roundup. If you have questions about the upcoming crawl, feel free to email me or text/call. I can be reached at [email protected] or on my wireless at (512) 496-8658. See you bright and early on May 2nd! Mark Gustafson
Keep an eye out for us in our stand out white rental ( are other colours available). Might do a practice run of the crawl with Mark prior to the eventif time allows, though air New Zealand cancelled our planned Monday flight to Tuesday , thanks !!!
A couple of us are in town from S.C. with a pretty sweet rental minivan. Sure it’s alright to tag along? We can stay behind a bit….like that girlfriend you don’t want your friends to know about.
Absolutely tag along at the rear. Turn up to round rock donuts nice and early. Get a picture of the route. Mark has done an awesome job of finding a 4th stop when on pulled out at the last minute due to health issues. You won’t be disappointed.
I did it in a company car one year. It is definitely something to go to and was always the highlight of the roundup for me...even if not in a hot rod or custom.
Thank you guys. We would love to have cars here but wasn’t in the cards this year. Let me see if I can heard everyone.
The woman at the donut store was surprised. She said no one told her we were coming. There is more 1930s sheet metal here than Pate. This is a Good swapmeet
Mark told the head honcho at the donut shop and they said all good we make extra on a Friday anyway. Maybe some staff didn’t know. He also told the police of the extra traffic, saw them make a few passes around.
Hope everyone had a good time on the crawl. Despite the threat of bad weather there was a great turnout. Thanks for y'all coming out to see the shops and of course a HUGE thanks to the shops that took time out of their workday to open up for all the visitors. Next year the garage crawl will be in the southwest area just to give y'all a heads up. I'm already working on stops.
