  1. Let's get going, shall we kids?

I was very late with these last week and the show went to the archives less than 30 minutes after I posted so here's my 'To be continued" moment.

I started with this 30 minute sketch:

... and took it a bit further ...

  9. Steelsmith (here on the HAMB) is working on a radical Olds project. I couldn't help myself and jumped in with a few ideas. Here's a detail..

  11. Bomonster, that's rad & very HAMB friendly.. wicked angle reminds me of the snorting black Mopar in that movie that had Tony Danza & project X in it.. was it 'Boulevard Nights' ?

After someone mentioned last weeks entry looked like a "French Design Competition" I thought I'd have a go at something more American...

I took the kids to a Nostalgia Drag race at the weekend and got to quickly sketch a few actual cars. Unfortunately they didn't have the patience to sit there while I drew all of them...

Starting to get some new stuff out now that I managed to get good reference. Thanks Beatersville and Sins of Steel!
This one was from the Sins of Steel. Gotta love lighting early morning. Oil on canvas 18x24".

Here's my latest skratchboard. I knocked it out just a few days before the Road Rocket Rumble last weekend. I wanted to do something for the Road Rockets. Both are wicked 55' gassers and are in the club. I have to give thanks to John Cooper "mercdueceman" for taking a picture of the front of Culbertsons shop in Indy since I forgot a couple weeks before during the goodguys open house. The 55' in the background is John's wifes car, how cool!!! Everyone loved this one at the show and I sold quite a few prints! Thanks for looking. Nate Grice

Thanks for the nice comments. DankyD that's a great oil painting - not something I've ever been brave enough to try. And Nate those scratchboard pictures are amazing. I tried my son's set once - it's quite a tricky thing to get your head round. You'd probably get on fairly well with lino cuts too - I'd like to see that.
