    Hello,

We all know about the famous Scotty’s Muffler Service white roadster. We saw it in person in 1959 at one of the biggest drag races in the USA at the time. It was a car show and drags all rolled into one event.

This B/Altered Class sponsorship by Scotty’s Muffler Service started in 1957 for the Colton Antiques Club.

Since fender-less sedans are somewhat popular these days, perhaps it could be a full custom sedan for the street with some mods. But, at any rate, it is one of the earliest sightings of a 1933 Willys Sedan, fenders or not…YRMV

  6. Thanks Jeff, hope tings is pretty good in Palookaville!

Some stuff I've been working on, here and there, as time has permitted.
I actually knocked out three Christmas commission pieces but non are HAMB friendly. Two doggy memorials portraits and mamma taking away her 2002 T'bird. I'll do a HAMB friendly version of that one using a proper two-seater.

Because, sometimes I use reference to double check my stuff. This is actually how I had to set up the cars in order to get the angle in a similar drawing to the the top sketch. If you look, the proportions are all off in this one I posted.
I needed to condense the space more, hence a second version which I'll share it at a later date.
The reason for this ' offset where was to compensate for the camera phone's tendency to create a "Fish-Eye" effect.
Since it's a slightly caricatured and 'staged' rendering, the 'cheat' in the photo worked. I moved the models to the position that reflects the angle I'd done the sketch at so the drawing actually came first.

  9. @ct1932ford , Mark, I hope your wife is doing better. She continues to be in my prayers as do you!

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their support of this little weekly gathering. I've always been grateful to Ryan and the J.J. staff for keeping the lights on. Even though they have dimmed considerably since I began posting in 2006, the FAS still hold a special place in my heart. My drawings tend to be outlets and releases from the stuff I draw, daily, for a living.
Last week I posted pretty late in the game and, yet, I was blown away by the number of 'likes' my doodles and reposts received.
That support is very humbling and I thank each and everyone of you, not only for myself, but on the behalf of all the artists and hobbyists on here. I know those "like" numbers are but a small fraction of the number of members who visit this little thread each week so, lurkers, I'm talking to you too, big thanks!

Thanks Jeff @Jeff Norwell , Mark @Moriarity @Jive-Bomber @Ryan and all the mods who keep this forum up and alive!

One a day, holy crap! I ‘m lucky to create any in a year (it’s on me). One daughter and her hubby bought a house in the outer banks of N.C. and asked me to design a sign. Aha, perfect Christmas present! 234A42C7-0ABF-471A-A3A6-F07879EA98FE.jpeg

  11. Jigger,...I totally agree with you!

Another embroidered trophy jacket from car shows past, since it was put on a dark green jacket I had them use a light colored thread. Gives it a kind of negative effect. Below is the original drawing...

This is a great phantom view, by the artist, Thomas Johnson of Portland Oregon. I really like the detail that he has shown here. I am still working on new stuff, with my new light pad, so this is this weeks offering till I get through with the latest piece.
Thanks from Dennis, to all that contribute weekly, to the "FAS"

  17. Thanks Jigger! Long couple of days. I had cataract surgery yesterday and my wife has continued with almost daily doctors visits, procedures and information overload. Your prayers are certainly working. Things could have been much worse. There will be a couple of more surgeries and probably treatments. Thanks again and keep on creating.

Excellent show, gang. I agree with Jigger's classic words of appreciation for this event. It is my weekly fix, and I appreciate all of it.
