Ryan as a monster....
I was gonna say a few of those pieces looked like they had a Corel Painter + Wacom "hand" to them!
Nice work, Mister Franco!
Franco is my hero, plus he's from San Jose too
Love his work, especially his airbrush stuff that looks acrylic like.
keep it up brother!
Franco is Swanko - we like having him as a Texan now. and yeah Jeff - he's getting dangerous on that mac
The '08 artwork is killer - the T shirts and posters look great and will be available at the Expo Center - And go see Franco at the gallery show and out at his booth and load up on some amazing art and swag - and check out the Lightnin' Bug in person - too too kool.
Man... is that Jerry Devito's '57 Ford??! Bad ass. Weird that you posted this piece... besides being one of my all-time fav's from this master of the brushes (traditional and digital!), I was literally just discussing the actual car with a client! Those Bob Hendricks scallops rule.
Great show so far, with yet another amazing tribute by Mr. Norwell to one of the greats!! Thanks for sharing all this, Jeff!
gary c, i love the sketch. jeff, thanks for posting some of franco's stuff, im a huge fan. low cab, i think this is one of my favorites from you. custom cory, i always enjoy your whacky creations. here's a 39 chevy custom i did for fellow hamber BigO. the unique design is pretty much all his ideas, i just illustrated them.
Ok, missed last week but here is what I'm working on in the studio this week...
first up, here is my new sugar shifter after being coated with some primer and then pulling a wax text cast...hope to get the rest pulled in resin soon.
and second....just got these two guys done over the weekend...trying to get some stock for a bunch of events coming up....both 8x24
"El Dandito" Orange
"El Bandito" Blue
Ryan. Congrats on having your car used as a model! (I'd be worried if my car would sneak over to VonFrancos place at night to model
Norwell. Von Francos stuff is really good! Love the green -57 Ford-painting.
I got away from the computer this week and picked up my colour-pencils for the first time in 15 years! It's all thanks to you guys and all the inspiration I get here every week. By pure chance it's a green -57 Ford
Slightly off topic of of cars I suppose, but for those who know "J Bone" at the Berkley Shop Shop, you know it isn't too far off topic. Some of you may remember him cutting hair at Billetproof Detroit this last summer. Jason commissioned me for a new business card for his shop along with a logo:
I get to follow both Von Franco and Zombie.
Oh well....so much for impressing anyone.
Here it is anyhow.
"Purple Pablo Bubblegum Wolf" 8x10 acrylic on canvas board. J. TINGLER 2008.
By the way, Von Franco is and always has been a major hero of mine. I think I look at his artwork daily for inspiration. If I ever get my stupid brain, eyes and fingers into a position to be as talented as Von Franco, I think I'll truely have found happiness.
cool, cool stuff - as always!
Since Ryan let the cat out of the bag, I guess I'll show everyone the full color version of the Roundup poster.
This is the greatest business card that I have ever seen...bar none
Somehow i missplaced the last two years poster for the round up plus one year of the Piston and Paint...hope they are together if i ever find 'em. new Artwork looks killer
My air deflector on my 40 standard that a friend did for me.
Koolest visegrips I ever saw!
Is that a picture of your car cecce?
I remember that you said got one.
Or is it just a teeser.
Here's one from the new guy, hope I did this right.
Great start this week everyone!
I haven't touched a brush in months so all I have to post is a notepad pen and highlighter doodle.
Aww....I am in the final strokes before I head off to Texas.......I will post some old kife......

Well Ryan, if you ever wonderd about the extent of your influenza, I mean influence in "the scene", there it is. Well deserved recognition for both your work and your Coupe.
