A pedal car I cut in half, re-shaped the hood area and converted to a woody wagon for two Best of Show awards for a show in Mississippi next weekend.

Damn Jen! That surf board is gorgeous! Looks like a ton of hours went into that piece. I really dig that barber sign as well.

    Excellent work all around!

Thanks for the kind words guys...much appreciated.
Soooo much great work here every week.
I love the progress shots and vids so I thought somebody might like to see the screen print separations.
Line drawing from photo references done in Illustrator, airbrushing and pixel smearin' with Wacom in left hand and mouse in right. Photoshop channels using paths to make digital "frisket"....

Amazing show everyone. Fortypickup, cool shaping! Spoggie, your watercolors always amaze me, this one is no exception. Bomonster, great one, as usual, the whole front end & the wheel is super cool! Cixpack, this style of yours is getting seriously amazing. Neatname - the reflection really makes the second photo, cool stuff.

    Still nothing serious from me

  10. super nice work!

  11. I use the original picture in a layer, and build up color blocks using the main shapes using a lasso tool, then add different levels (shadow, highlight, shade 1, shade 2, etc.) for the shading. The main blocks provide the "frisket". Sometimes I build complicated or small, repeating shapes in from Illustrator, like the pie crusts on tires, or grill bars, bring it in as a smart object and rasterize it.

Reminds me of one I won in an auction here on the H.A.M.B quite a few years back.
