...Thanks for the call outs guys.

HotRod 49, I love the truck lettering, especially the flow and energy of the words "Brad King's" and "Phone". I've always liked that look, but I've never been able to master that style, and I admire those that can. Any more of your work posted somewhere?

Gary, Bo, Larry, Locab, excellent work, as always. Thanks for sharing with us mortals.

Stefan, your sketches and watercolors are beyond description, and some of my favorite illustrations anywhere.

Just a few of the many worth mentioning here. Thanks to all the contributors to the FAS.

  4. Looks pretty dang good to me! Give yourself some credit.

I love the Friday Art Shows but they are also kind of depressing. I have ZERO artistic talent and when I scan through these posts every week I always wish I could do this kind of stuff myself.

Here's a drawing I did - OVER 30 YEARS AGO! - of my pal 'Pablo'
I had forgotten all about it until he recently emailed it to me - I forgot I used to like to draw.
How is this car related? Well...Pablo was a HUGE car influence on me back when I was about 20ish. I learned to appreciate low riders, we pinstriped, drew shit and worked on our cars together and of course partied our asses off. Around this time he had a 58 squarebird, 56 f100 big window & a 62 chevy II. He was (and is) a cool dude.
Fun part was that you could go to THE worst parts of the city - gang country - but as soon as they knew you were with Pablo, you were 'ok' - A real eye opener to a kid who grew up in farm country.
Picture riding around late, going to bars & having big laughs with this guy:
