Thank you everyone. Glad you liked it.
robber - It is a rare one. The car owner had to rebuild it and did a great job.
All my hood ornament photos were taken "in the wild" at car shows and cruise-ins. With no special lighting.

Another oldie: 48 Cadillac foggy, overcast morning on an Oxblood Cad.

57 Corvette Bob------ Burger-Time. A perfect way to start off a Friday, a 71 year old hot rodder thinking back about waiting to pick up his high school sweetheart and cruising down to the burger stand to eat and meet with their friends. Thanks, Bob.

Love your ornament shots JBurt! That seriously must be a rare one if I haven't seen it, and the fella really did an awesome job at bringing it back to life! I dig your foggy Caddy shot too! Here's a capture of one of the rarest ornaments, that I have come across... "Carved Crystal"...

Thanks Robber- yes I like the neon-ish thing too. Also diggin' the wonderful Isotta- Fraschini. Out here there's a Tipo 8 somewhat like yours (as pictured). A tourer, it was used to cart vegetables to market after WW2. They have a cast alloy firewall and 5 litre straight 8 and are a BIG fine car..

It sure wouild be nice if the HAMB could at least give the Fridays Art Show a sticky and let the guys know that the art show is appreciated, maybe its just being thrown in with all the regular post is why we only get 1/2 of the post that we use to ???????????

I was just thinking the same. Use to be the Friday Art Show stayed at the top of the page all day Friday. Now you have to go as far back as 3 or 4 pages on some days to see the artwork. Half the Artists that used to post don't seem to post any more. Don't know if they are busy with life, or think their work is not appreciated any more. Just one man's observation.

    GaryC.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank those who liked and commented on my "High Treason" artwork.
It's always gratifying when your fellow artists appreciate the work that you do.

I had several that were my favorites... The Opel Rekord (clean and pretty), Spex84; great concepting. Spoggie; your stuff is always fun and very artistically executed. The Panhard; awesome... I could go on and on, but I appreciate the effort of all the artists, whether you use a pencil, a brush, a digital tablet or a camera. More than the quality of the art or the experience of the individual; it's the desire to participate that's important.
Keep up the great work everyone!

...and I will now hop down from my soap box.

  29. Youre hittin' new levels. High Treason will be a new favourite piece. And you nail the 'participation' thing Gary- In my case, i hope folks are up for bouts of occasional expressionism (read- quick & kinda rough art).

It's too bad some of the "ol' time artists" don't understand that we can all co-exist. I stopped contributing because it became a "them or us thing". I appreciate the time and effort brush, pencil, and sculptural artists take to do a piece because I used to do it myself. Time and a lack of room moved me into photos and computer art. Now my health has relegated me to re-posting stuff I have done before. But, I'm still trying to figure out what I can contribute that is new and "artistic" while still maintaining the spirit of this forum.
I don't want to see the FAS die of neglect.
