    Hello,
The Vulcans Car Club was a popular club in the early days at Lions and the Long Beach / Wilmington areas. The bright purple sedan could be identified from a long distance away. The detailing was outstanding. Over the years, the toll was taken and the whole race car had to be rebuilt. What most people see at the hot rod reunions is the recreated version of the Vulcans Car Club 32 Vicky.

But, nothing is to be taken away from this build as it allows all people that did not get to see it race in its early days, can now see it run, with “authority.” The re-creation is pretty outstanding.

At the 2017 grand opening of the Lions Dragstrip Museum at the Price Transfer Automobilia Complex, the 32 Vicky was in one of my favorite corners of the whole building.

Not only were my early Lions drag racing films being presented on the huge TV monitor on the wall of this corner, but, it was near many of my favorite race cars from back in those old days. (Charlie Ettien’s yellow Ford truck, the Vulcans Vicky, and the Hunter/Hill/Acala red Modified Roadster in its original glory, etc.)

Ron thanks for the picture of the Henry Gregor Felsen book. As a kid I read them all. They are still a good read today.

Just a quick render of a showrod based on 58 Plymouth parts sketched at work. Clearly inspired by Plowboys Atomic Punk
