    GaryC.

    First in flames?
Jim Lytle brought us many thrilling rods.
An example... "Big Al". A 34 sedan with an Allison
12 cylinder aircraft engine and "Quad Al"; that one had four Allisons!
    Jim liked horsepower!

My subject this week is one of his earliest cars.
A chopped and lowered Deuce with a full-race Hemi.
Rod & Custom, in September of 2006 mentioned
that this car is likely the first car painted with flames.
The car was red in front and canary yellow in the rear.
13.2 seconds at 107 mph 50 years ago was pretty quick.

Here's the sketch and the final rendering.

I'm not an artist but I did frame my beloved Ed Roth decals this week. My framing skills are roughly on par with a retarded 5 year old Gorilla, but it's hanging above my couch anyway.

EDIT: After being warned about possible pain and suffering my post has/will/may cause because of the word "retarded", I have changed it to something more politically correct.

In no way do I intend any sort of slander or stereotyping of the majestic gorilla. They are glorious creatures that in fact have a very low rate of mental handicap among thier species. My comment merely reflected my picture framing skills with comparison so as to accurately describe how hard it was for me. But at least my girlfriend gave me graham crackers afterward. Back to the show...

Always dig your work GaryC. Neat history lesson there too. here's something new from me....

7' wide and 3' tall clear plexi. I put black trash bags behind it so i could tell what it would look like on a black wall.

I've been making these little car books for my friends. I made this one Monday night for Elden thinking he might like it. I was getting it ready to mail when I got word he had passed. I thought I would share it with you guys.

  17. RockyJr, that is insane!!!. Some of you stripers must just be wired differently, and that, in a very good way. I am amazed at the vision and then your ability to produce it. Too cool!

    RodP, Thats cool stuff, thanks.

GaryC, Do those headlights come with tread marks from tight turns? Cool picture, good luck.

Here's a little sketch I did. Not a lot of time to do much more,

I wasn't able to participate last week due to the Goodguys show but I want to thank those HAMBers that came by to say Hi.

    Great show so far.

Here's my first try at this...

I've been following this thread for many months and truly enjoy looking at everyone's artwork, always amazing stuff.

I picked up a free pair of glass 56' Chevy fenders. I spray bombed them, added lettering, pinstriped the letters and hung them in my garage. I wanted them to appear "aged".

The second is in the trunk of my 55'. Just started striping earlier this summer, lots of fun but has been equally frustrating at times.

Wow... another killer start! Gary, Rocky... incredible talent! Jigger, I dig it so far (and will probably dig it in perfect proportion as you further!) Too much good stuff... LOWCAB, Pacheco, DutchCourage... I'm on overload already....

I'll warn you ahead to break out the red/cyan 3D glasses... I played a bit with this piece (check out the Dec. R-n-C for big-size goodness), and decided to create a more "dimensional" version.... A lot more work than I thought it'd be, but the results are cool and fun... Hope ya dig it:
