I've been working on muscle car stuff and doing some tractor pull designs for t-shirts so I haven't had much to post. This is lifted from a car show design I recently did. Once again there is a lot of great art being posted, 57 Corvette ~ Bob, GaryC., fortypickup, johnnyjalopy, BOMONSTER, Buick59, Tommy's Cycle, Martin Squires, kismyss, Dan Greenberg, LOWCAB, WhateverWeber, Jeff Norwell, Ed Tillrock and others! Inspirational as always.

I'm stunned every Friday visiting this post. Such great talent all. I wished I had a museum or a gallery to put it all in. What a great collection it would be.

It may have been done before, I apologize ahead of time. Have all of you ever tried to do a theme where you would pick any hot rod known or not know and do your own interpretation using all the different mediums? It'd be great to see where all the different talents would take it. Metallurgy, oils, water color, pencils, skateboard, cartoon, pinstripe, photos, Photoshop, illustration, etc. In any setting too.

If it was done, can you steer me to the past thread? If not, my suggestion is the first cover of Hot Rod Magazine roadster built by Regg Schlemmer.

    Just a thought.

Thanks for all your present and past postings fellas. Big fan of all.

    Chris

Friggin awesome! I would love to drive a car like this!

  9. Jeff N.those render]ings nearly render me speechless. The energy you've created with the technique used in the first one would send me into a seizure were I pre-disposed to being an epileptic...(no offence to those who suffer, but consider this a warning ...) Stunning detail sir!!!

ED T., That really turned out brilliantly.

    Youz guys inspire!

Thanks to all who have taken time and said such nice things about the "Dreamer" sketch. That on came to me as a spontaneous inspiration yesterday afternoon. After working out the sketch, my 16 year old (artist) daughter,Abby, saw it and said, "That better be me in there..." Of course, she meant driving the car... So the kid, much younger, is loosely based on her. Though I plan to complete all, this one will be priority. Again, thanks to all who suggested as such.

Chris, I used this image from that same book to create this quick sketch, done in a digital format:

Here is something I finished up today. I hope you don't mind a Hot Rod of a different sort. I'll get rid of it Jeff if I'm too OT on this one. 24"X24" Acrylic on wood.

Buick59- those lowrider bike shots are spectacular, man!

whateverweber- love the Tee design with Andy and his T!

  14. Bernie, I forgot to mention how much I like your stuff. De plane es muy fantastico!

    Thanks John, glad you like...
It was suggested, by a friend, that I animate the drawing of the coupe and I just might, given the time... I keep looking at what I need to do to improve the car and that detail will have to come first...

Thank you for the kind comments.
I have found the French bike scene fantastic. They are into all sorts of contraptions. The best thing I've seen so far was an Anzani twin pace bike at Monthlery in 2011.

  22. Lowcab, I really like your MOTEL sign.
If you are OT then I'm OT.

My finished piece from last weeks preview. Tiki Motel sign - laser cut pieces and hand painted - about 28" x 18".

Love this poster a real inspiration. Was this all done digitally or was it sketched the ol' way first?

    Roll on next Friday!

The first poster with the FED that Jeff did is of an actual 1961 Pontiac powered dragster built and still owned by another Texas Legend Bob Malone and his car as well as Scorpion I and V will perform in the Cackle Fest and the Bobby Langley presentation at our event. Cool Stuff.....Again Thanks Jeff these posters are over the top!
