Hello,

I have always like flames. My early start came from seeing all those flames on the 50’s customs and hot rods. Over the years, the flames got fancier and fancier. I tried spraying them and outlining them on bikes, lawnmowers, wagons and even on white tennis shoes. They just did not come out as well as on paper. On some plastic models, slot cars, and R/C cars much later, they looked ok. But, on paper, you could get as creative as possible. Those pin point markers and pencils work quite well.

Here is a dream pick up/newer El Camino converted to a camper shell that looks like it was made for the El Camino. The design made the car look like a 2 door wagon/sedan delivery. We have always liked station wagons and sedan deliveries.

2009
This modern version had a one piece glass window in the place of the solid metal panel. Yes, the flames would create some blind spots, but the rest of the clear glass would show any movement making objects appear as they would. That would allow virtually, no blind spots while driving. (One pet peeve with our two 40 Ford Sedan Deliveries)

Nice stuff so far guys. No woodies from me but I have this (literally finished 5 minutes ago). Again playing with unfamiliar media, prismacolour pencil on black paper. The black adds another challenge, I think I need a lot more practice with it.

 

Let's see, get wood, got wood. Great subject. Just in case you want music to go along with this, try north sea surf radio.

Heres a Hornet and an Anglia I did for one of my best friends...his Anglia is bad ass for sure, 351 w/ two kits nitrous and one Woody from way back before using ink markers....hmmm, may have to inkify this one.

Great stuff guys, kind of like "Woody stock"! (Sorry) Taking a "Fundamentals of Design" course at the local college, maybe I'll be able to share some of my new found knowledge with you at a later date. Projects using the computer as a tool are included, scary stuff for me! Keep sharing these things, Thanks

 

A great f.a.s. I wasn't going to post anything this week. We took the grandkids for a Virginia beach road trip. But with the woody theme, I'll post from my cellphone gallery. And I'll keep an eye out for one here at the beach.
