I combed the place pretty good, and will probably go back for another look soon. Both brothers have gone to hot rodders heaven. I filled my truck with parts, bought two other cars and a motorcycle! It was quite the haul!

I must admit, I’m a little green when it comes to traditional hot rods. I have a lot to learn about what everything is. I know well enough to not mess with it and that keeping it as it was is the best angle.

I guess I would like to get it running and on the road, but leave the patina just as it is.

Just a great story of lifes cycles when its good its good...and then we can't be here any more but things outlast us and your going to have a journey with this blast from the past. There are a couple of threads on restoring or reviving old paint...that may be helpful...glad your giving the former past life of the coupe heavy consideration. I would do the same...they had it looking pretty cool there. Good luck with the re-search...

This is just awesome! Amazing find and a great story. Keep in touch with the remaining family. Maybe more stories will come up about the brothers and their hot rods.

I’d like to find someone in the area that might be able to breathe some life back into this car. I’m near Temecula. I’m thinking the fastest way for me to get it rolling would be to sign the check, or get some hands on help from someone else. If I try to take it on myself, it will sit. I’ve just got so many projects in front of me !

    Any leads?

Looks like a really fun time to be had. I myself ,hate patina=big disrepect for steel/car of any type.same for primer if thought of as a finish vs temp. on way to shiny! Not fixing finish to me is not fixing car an lazy. But that's me. Your going to have a great time playing with that one. Its very cool old rod.

I try not to dictate direction but I agree with @dana barlow that your coupe at least in your final stage of completed period resurrection would look best in Henrys favourite color non flaked period black just as it appears in the Frank and Fred photo. You are very fortunate to have the photos to guide you. Also you are amazingly fortunate to have a weathered but solid Hotrod to recover. Bringing her back...good stuff @bugnbox

Hey you even got vintage plates and who knows you may even come across old decals as you posted...

    That's a great find!

I'd love to have a crack at something like that.

Hey there ... the time has come for me to let this one go. I’ve popped it up on “the bay” if anyone is interested.

I’ve got it together , new Firestone’s , but still not running. I hope it finds a good home where the history will be respected. Sad to see it go, but I’ve got bigger irons in the fire and I need to keep the coals hot!
