History Fremont Drag Strip ... PICS from 1964!!!

    On a side note, all '64 & '65 2-Door Chevelle wagons were built at the Fremont plant. And the '66 El we're building as my son's car came from there as well.
    Thanks for the pictures and memories. Used to head up there in the late 70's up until it closed. Poppo even rented it a time or two, once for a crazy flip-front '68 Z/28 he had and another for his steathily-supercharged '84 Corvette. I did manage to run my sister's 3-cylinder Sprint one of those times, awesome ET.

    Great shots HEMI32, that was my senior year in high school and spent "darn near" every weekend there. Raced a 40 Plymouth and a 58 Chevy there in 64.
    In later years I got to make a pass in my buddies gutted 64 Ford Fairlane Thunder bolt clone race car, 10.35 et @135mph [427 4-speed with "those" tire compounds] in 1971.
    Too much to write but I do have some home movies I took..8mm.
