Posted this on the Early Ford V8 site and got no response. I have a 46 Ford long door coupe with a 59AB that was rebuilt with all new parts five years ago and only run on the engine test stand. The pumps are either Skip's or the updated Speedway units and both were stuck. Got the left side free and it runs with no coolant leak. The right side is now free but stiff enough the belt won't turn it. The belt is a 5/8 wide Dayco and sets low in the groove. Some belts they sell for the trucks and Mercury's show to be 3/4 wide which would give more contact surface. When the pumps were installed a stainless bolt with anti-seize was used inside the lower hose nipple which should remove easily but a soon to be 83 year old tries to avoid bending over the fender jobs. I guess the question is: try the wider belt first or just replace the pump which may not leak if it would turn (like the other one). Thank you.
