Little O/T but could call this group "look ma no tats" or "traditional doesn't mean tatted like a Merchant Marine"
Wonder how many of these programs are around...and how many of the people and businesses are too. I used to sell Royal Motors parts in 1993
Anyone know the story on the Tornado overhead conversion for the flathead? I've never seen one. Frank
Hi fab32, The conversion kit was made by a man named LEE CHAPEL. He sold them at Lee's Speed Shop in Oakland, California.
The great looking convertible had a full page in the 1952-53 edition of the Dan Post Blue Book of Custom Restyling. And was more recently also in the TRJ produced book on the Strother MacMinn photo collection.
The 3100 is my Brother's long gone p/u - he is Fred 4 The pick up at Truckee isn't there - I searched a few months ago
Okay a couple more 'cause I know you guys need a little Friday smile Man I really dig these two shots
WoW! Thank you so much for scanning and posting these slides. They're all fabulous. The drags and autocross shots are so neat to see in color.
A few more prints from the pile - I like the Plymouth, laugh at the Bug Hauler, wonder what ever happened to the Hawai'i cars but mad I WANT that Dodge !
Another print I think is pretty darn cool - no indication of the location - probably taken between 1948 and 1958 when Dad was single
Here is Dad's Woody convert in front of a Hillsborough mansion's front gate. He took a lot of pictures there of his cars. I am curious about the one parked on the street - I can't make it out for sure but the center of the hub caps seem to have a Packard logo....? The other through the fence looks like a Ford but I am not sure
Wow thanks so much for sharing these with all of us! I'm going to go check out your website right now!
Today's tasty treat from the box of pix - I don't think I posted here before but if I did forgive me Thinking its a the old Belmont track - or Oakland
More from the box of stuff ---- This convert is inspirational for my 50 De Soto - it looks mildly lowered to me - though I am so new here abouts I have no idea what it is - I like the sleek stance and wide whites and the skirts. The 49 Ford is just sad to see....
Looks like a 4 door Hudson with the top whaked off ! Never mind the 49 Ford look at the other stuff in the background awaiting its fate....
