I just heard Frank was injured and his wife Karen killed while driving the roadster. They were hit in Greer Az yesterday. I would like any info on Franks condition and in what hospital he is in.

Just heard it from Frank Streff down at So-Cal Az about an hour ago, and then again from Don Marks. Nobody seems to have any info at the moment, but I'll give Frank a call tomorrow and find out what he knows further.

Good morning gentlemen.... Frank came out of re-constructive knee surgery well yesterday, following Thursday noon accident. Still has a femur issue to be dealt with. He is in room 282 @ John C. Lincoln Hospital, 250 E Dunlap ave, Phoenix AZ 85020 [room has no phone]. Will try to keep you updated. Jim Elgan, Miami AZ Update; Knee re-repaired [just replaced 18 months ago]. Femur, hip & rib issues to go.... Son said he may be in rehabilitation therapy for six months... ..

No, as far as I know Frank isn't. He is one of Phoenix's patriarchs in the hot rod gig however, having owned his hemi powered '32 highboy since the mid fifties. From the bit I hear his injuries are not life threatening, limited to some broken bones and ribs.

In light of the situation, I have thought it best at this point not to worry or even ask about the car, but even that in itself would be a horrible loss to our local history.

My worst nightmare...the thought alone makes me wince.
Say a silent prayer, guys. My wife is more precious to me than anything.

X2, Cripes. I dont know the guy, But I'd way rather be dead than have to deal with the loss of my wife or daughter. God forbid.

Sad deal. The car is non issue as to not only have to recover from injuries, but to have to deal with the loss of a mate. Cars can be replaced. My thoughts are with him.

  25. A lot of thoughts and prayers for Frank, but I am not seeing any words about the loss of life, to his wife.
How about thoughts and prayers for her ? ? ?
Doesn't matter who Frank was to the car world, the loss of life is traumatic.

Frank is well respected around here. My prayers go out not only for his terrible loss, but for his total recovery.
