Just threw this up on my blog about my first 1950 Merc I had in the mid 1980's. Kind of weird when you find pics of a car and it brings back memories...have not thought much about it in years...

I thought all 80s built cars got body-colored bumpers, tweed or velour interiors, and 80's car taillights?

A HUGE thumbs up, for doing it right, in a time when many were doing it wrong. Myself, having been in my twenties in the 80's, can still recall and shudder at all the crap that was tacked on and cut off of old cars.

They say, that muscle cars almost killed hot rodding. Well, the 80's and 90's were just as dangerous. All that over done, high priced crap, scared me away from hot rods for almost 25 years.

Last time I saw my old black merc it was at Back to the 50's in MN a couple of years ago.

Have no idea where it is now....

My old red one ended up getting chopped and changed several times, including several color changes. I doubt I would recognize it if it was sitting in front of me.
