It is a 1940 dodge , as I said earlier.
pshh that will definitly buff out !
Thanks! It sure is a Dodge!! It's been too rainy here to get back to the car, but as soon as things dry out around here I'll head back and see what I can scrounge off of it. (including the little vent window pieces!)
a 55 gallon drum of bondo will make it look like new
there's still a few thing left, i drug a 54 chev grill out of the woods for the teeth this summer by my grandparents place in summers county, i've known it was there since i was a kid tho. if you go far enough back in the hills you can still find a thing or two.
What part of Summers county? , I have some property next to the lake there , any chances of getting a look see at that '54 in the woods? , I could use some parts for this...
Probably should revise that to: "ran great just before it was parked up!!"
That looks worse than 90% of the stuff I find in ... well "secret places", but its always cool to salvage something from the wreckage...
I should have got this years ago... and now its worse than it looks here.
Because I learned my lesson I did this...
and saved a cool piece of history if not just a cool piece of metal...
So I say go get what you can. It with be worth the story if nothing else.
Restore it and call it The Swiss Cheese Kustom. Somebody took a tommy gun to that baby!
Looks better than some rodent rods.
Yeeeee.... I can't imagine ANYTHING on there that is worth a second trip! Good luck with that.
call koolkemp when you dig it out he will build a chopped coupe out of it. It looks better than what he started with.
Only one drum. Are you sure?
I know where there used to be two 50-51 Mercury convertibles sitting out in the desert.
They were similarly "Air-Conditioned" but still had the top bows with them.
I haven't been back to the area in quite a while, wonder if they are still there, of has BLM taken them to the crusher?
Might try to have a look once the snow melts.
Stutz, that dash and story are awesome!! Thanks for taking pics and documenting your adventure!
