Alright guys, I was doing some work on my truck today:
I was mounting my rear tires with those spacers to my 9" rear end.
Trying to get an idea how wide the whole things gonna be. I came up with 55.5" from the inside of the tire to the inside of the other tire.
Last Refuges 36 pick up bed is 46" wide. So I'll have 4.75" clearance between the bed and the tire. Do you guys think that's to much??

Next thing is to ream the front axle and mount spindles brakes and tires...
So I can check out the actual riding height up front.
I hope it's not going to be to low ;-)

Welcome back. As to your question about the spacing from your box to the rear tires, I've got 2.75 on mine and think that's plenty. This is with 3.875 back space wheels. Depending on the backspacing on your wheels, you could close that up some. There's alot to be said for personal tastes and a guys pocket book so that would be a determining factor in my world.

The problem is, I have to use this spacers so I can put on my 35 wire wheels...

I'm just afraid of getting through this whole width and gears thing again when looking for a narrower rear end.

But I am also thinking about getting a pair of slicks in the future for fun use.
So It would be good maybe to have some space where I can play.

What do you guys think???

What I cam up with on here is that they are good for what they cost.
But the problem is that it takes the guys at LR a log time to fab these beds.

Just do a search on here for Last Refuge

So I don't really know what to do.
I am a real impatient person

And yes, I know: there is a lot of sh** in my bed
This custom bed is 44" inside, the new one should be 46".
So that's gonna change it a líttle.
Now what do you think about that??

How well does your 9" drum, 35 wire, spacer combo bolt up?

I have it on mine too....but Im not real sure what to think about it.

Can you have your axle shortened? They do that around here fairly inexpensively.

yes, it bults up very easy! looks pretty solid.
I only did it with 2 nuts for mock up, but I think it's gonna be ok.
I haven't looked arround yet for someone to shorten it.

@dave
the new bed (stock) will be 2 inches wider. that will help me a little.
I think I'll leave it for now and see how it looks like, when everything is together.
than I can think about narrowing it or not.
I'll run coilovers in the back (speedway kit) so I won't use the leave springs at all.

Alright, so here is an update from the last few days:
Got a lot of parts from Speedway in, so it was really time to do something on the front suspension.
Already had the axle and the backing plates powdercoated last year.
So i painted the steering arms and stuff and finally put it together.

I know you are waiting for the pics, so here thez are:

Trying to get the hairpins and drag link mounted tonight...

Well, I tried to get a whole hardware kit, but they didn't have one for my brakes.
So I had to get the parts seperately.
But looks like we missed those stuff. I'll check back and ask for them.

Is it 2 pins, 2 sprigs and 2 caps each side??
If so, why do they show 8 pins in this picture??
Do I need 8 of them??

Alright, my guy at the auto store is on vaacation this week, so I'll go there next week to get all this stuff.

Is there a rule that says, you have to put your tie rod on top of your steering arm, or can I also put it under it?? Would just be better to clear the hair pins...
