    I have a 59' Ford truck with 2nd generation 223 bolted to a 3spd. Will a 302 bolt to this transmission?

If you get the right bellhousing...but that bellhousing won't work in the truck....

Squirrel is right. You will have to find a new bellhousing. One out of a mid to lates 60's Ford with a 240 six, 289, 302, or 351W and a 3 spd should work fine.

The other option is a Lakewood or Quicktime bellhousing. They both make bellhousings to fit a SBF to a 3 spd.

    Good Luck

the bugaboo is the hydraulic clutch linkage and bellhousing mounts, might be difficult to find a 6 bolt small block bellhousing with the stuff it needs to work in that truck.
