I bought a milk crate full of Foed spindles, and know what they all are except for these two. Both passenger side, one for cross steering with 21A cast on it, and the other is not cross steering with 7HY cast on it (truck, maybe?).

I’m not familiar with the 7HY forging identifier but I agree with you, it’s truck. ‘48^ F1’s were side steer with a really ugly bolt on steering arm for the drag link.

  3. Check the bearing and seal diameters. The f-1 spindles have larger diameters than the pre-1949 spindles. The spindles with the 2 tie rod holes, if it marked 21 A, it is 1942-1948 Ford passenger car, and 1942-1947 Ford truck. If the spindle with the single tie rod hole has bigger seal and bearing diameters, it is Ford F-1 truck. The bolt on steering arm is only on the driver's side spindle. these 2 spindles are both passenger side, so no bolt on steering arm.

The 7HY is '48-'52 F1 truck right hand spindle, 21A is '42-'48 passenger car right hand spindle.
