I need a sending unit for my '37 Ford, but I don't know what ohms the stock guage is. I have a Drake sending unit that I bought a long time ago, I asked one of their salesmen last year what the ohms were on their unit and he told me 0 -100. The unit that was in the car was supposedly out of a '55 Ford and it worked fine, but now that unit is no good. Can anybody help me with this. Thanks!

You can use an ohm meter and a variable resistor (1k) from radio shack to drive the gauge. You will then know low to high range. You can measure the senders with hot water, thermometer and same ohm meter.

If you are sure about the year you can get a reproduction sending unit.
