What are the size differences between a 56 F100 bed and an earlier one such as a 38/39? If the early one is smaller, could a '56 bed be easily cut down to "fit" a '38? Thanks Brad

I don't know for a fact but I think they would be pretty close. I have a 46 ford pickup and I was thinking about using the box off of a 50 ford truck. The fenders will be different but that would just take some welding and drilling to change the holes to fit the older fenders.

I think you'll find that the F-100 bed is deeper (taller?).
    and maybe a little wider.

The bed is 17 1/2" from where the rail bends out to the bed floor. it's 22 from the bottom of the rail to the bottom of the shirt. 25 to the top of the rial from the bottom of the shirt.

It 50" wide and 6' long. It's just flat iron so it could be easily cut down.

Now if someone has dimensions on the other bed you're in there like swim wear.
