ford OD trans question

I dont have it in front of me so this is why i ask. Will a OD trans off a 50 Ford flathead bolt directly to a 215/223 Ford inline?

Not sure about the bell housing but the tranny will bolt to a flathead bell. My 53 was originally a 6 cyl with o/d, now a flathead.

Well in theory, yes it should. Y-blocks will bolt to a flathead bellhousing, and 223s bolt to y-block bellhousings.

Actually ive had it for a while. Its attached to my merc flathead...

 

49-64 ford transmissions have the same 4 bolt pattern. 49 & 50 merc have the same pattern as the pre 49 ford. 51 merc is the first merc with the 4 bolt pattern.

 

I know about that but do you know if the 50 merc has the same bell housing bolt pattern as the others?
