Ford O Matic transmission troubles! It shifted absolutely perfect both gears in drive, low, and reverse. It was freshly rebuilt, drove like new! Then we put it in the paint shop, taped off the dash and shifter, and while we went to move it out of the way, I turned the wheel and it slammed the shifter through the gears (car off, just pushing it around the shop) Now, when I start the car with the shift lever in P (confirmed on the transmission, so it is not linkage), the car acts like it is in a forward gear...shift to reverse, neutral, drive == reverse, and low does nothing again. Can someone PLEASE tell me what to do when I drop this pan??
