Was year range was the bakelite camshaft timing gear used in the Ford / Merc v8?

This is mainly directed toward people who put real miles on their flatties: Are you running all steel timing gears or is there still bakelite in there?

I don't know if I would call it bakelite, rather a fiber gear. The other option is aluminum. I put aluminum in anything I have but I don't put real miles on mine.

Go the aluminum route. They last longer.
