Ford FMX Questions....

    What are people doing for floor shifters?
    The only thing I can Find is a Lokar...."Not the style I'm looking for"
    Thanks in advance.

    Anybody adapt a C4/C6/AOD shifters?

    the FMX is a column shift kind of a transmission, if you know what I mean.....

    FMX was used in Mustangs with 351 around 1969-1973 shifter base is a little bigger than what your used to seeing,but has neutral and back up light switch built in.Used one in 1927 T roadster back in 1975.

    Mustang, Cougars, other Fords in the early 70s had floor shifters w FMX. If it has a 351-2V(C or W) it probably has the FMX.

    I have a 70 Cougar with one. I too wanted to change the shifter but ended up going with the factory one. I agree with squirrel , The FMX is a good strong ( heavy) Tansmission , but if ya wanna shift it,you might want to go with something else. ( good C-4) .
