What are people doing for floor shifters? The only thing I can Find is a Lokar...."Not the style I'm looking for" Thanks in advance. Anybody adapt a C4/C6/AOD shifters?
FMX was used in Mustangs with 351 around 1969-1973 shifter base is a little bigger than what your used to seeing, but has neutral and back up light switch built in.Used one in 1927 T roadster back in 1975.
Mustang, Cougars, other Fords in the early 70s had floor shifters w FMX. If it has a 351-2V(C or W) it probably has the FMX.
I have a 70 Cougar with one. I too wanted to change the shifter but ended up going with the factory one. I agree with squirrel , The FMX is a good strong ( heavy) Tansmission , but if ya wanna shift it,you might want to go with something else. ( good C-4) .
