I have a 1964 352 FE motor and need to know which is the proper flexplate and started combo to mate it to an FMX trans from the 70's

I have heard too many different answers with what is needed and need a real solution...

Do you have a 70s FMX with a bellhousing that will bolt to an FE engine? I didn't think such a transmission existed.....

maybe an FX or an MX from the 60s is what you mean? or do you want to put the 60s bellhousing on a 70s FMX from behind a 351?

Why not a C6? Lighter, simple to rebuild, upgrade and much more available.

What's the casting number on the bellhousing?

so...you'd probably use a starter and flexplate and engine plate from a full size 1965 352 equipped car, eh? since that's what the bellhousing is from.

I don't remember about torque converters, though....do you have one for the trans that has the correct splines? if so does the pilot match the crankshaft?

yeah i have the torque converter. I just got ahold of a flexplate/motorplate/starter from my buddy's shop that was out of a mid sixties Galaxie and it all seems to line up.

    thanks!
