Ford 9" and 34' bones

    Guys,

    Wonder if it could be possible to run a 300HP+ engine with a rear consisting of a 9" diff and just plain old Ford bones instead of ladder bars, 4 links, etc.

    Anyone running something similar ?

    Forget it.
    36 style bones are about the strongest and they are marginal at best.
    34's might be a bit short for the task, but you could possibly set them up as angled ladder bars like the P&J style ladder bars.
    "Rollin' Bones" cars are set up that way and they get a real workout!
    Upper tubes and center webs get added to the original split bones for strength.
     
  3. i suggest you build the ladder bars that have been discussed in another of your posts, later on you will be glad you did. they really are not hard to build if you have the right material and tools
