I need a C4 for my Falcon. I've been told my engine, a 65 model 200 inline 6, takes a 5 bolt bellhousing transmission. What applications would have had a 5 bolt C4 and how do I positively ID it once I've found one?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

The 5 bolt bellhousing only refers to the early 260/289 ,not the 200 6 cyl. They use any 170/200 belhousings. Hope this helps , Gasserman

The 5 bolt bells were used in '64 (including early '65 AKA 641/2 Mustangs). the '65s had the new pattern. Most any 65 & up 6 & SBF should bolt up.

So is it as simple as counting engine-to-bellhousing bolts to verify what I have?

I would count the bolts first. The bellhousing on C4s are removable anyway, so just match them up.
