This is the engine I dream about
for my Ford country sedan,it would be a perfect replacement for the 390 that's
in it now. I can only dream, I'm sure
    it's way beyond my budget.

LOL I wish I had one. Somebody said it looks like Dan Gurney now he would be more likely than me to have one laying around. :)

There is a F.E.D running one down here in New Zealand. I took these photos at our Nostalgia drag meeting last weekend.

  19. I work for somebody that owns 3 cammers. He said one came from Mickey Thompson but I don't know which. One is a glass top coffee table in his media room, another is NOS and the 3rd I'm using for mock-up on his '57 T-Bird. It'll be replaced with the NOS engine. Had a 4th one but traded it in the 1970's for 1/2 interest in a '57 Cadillac Brougham he and his brother shared. His brother owned the Gas Ronda Mustang F/C at the time and needed a SOHC for it.

I've been a HUGE FORD FANATIC (BLUE OVAL LOYALIST
& PURIST) since my childhood, I’ve got a question for you: how hard would be
To convert the SOHC 427 back to the Side Oiler 427 configuration w/ FE 427
"HIGH RISER" Cylinder Heads for Top Fuel and Pro Mod use, Here’s the Bore &
Stroke for the 500 cu. in. T/F Engine:
    500 cu in.:4.290" x 4.324" (T/F)
    525 cu. in.:4.290" x 4.541" (P/M)
The reason I'm asking is I ‘read an article in my Nov. 2014 issue of DRAG
RACER Magazine, My question is would this combination work or not.Same Engine Block if I'm correct between the Side Oiler & SOHC 427

Also what would be the Connecting Rod Length for both engines?

  22. IIRC, both motors share the same casting, but they're machined differently. The SOHC wasn't drilled for cam oiling at the 3,4, and 5 cam journals (although that wasn't always true) and there's a couple of other differences. You can convert a standard 427 block to cammer specs, but I don't think you can go the other way.

Given the rarity of SOHC parts and the availability of aftermarket 427 blocks, why would you even want to do this?

  24. Dug up some NOS SOHC gaskets out of the T-Bird owners parts stash and found this on the box.
